POELLATH advises Deutsche Wohnen SE on sale of part of its nursing home portfolio in Hamburg

Deutsche Wohnen SE, a subsidiary of Europe’s largest listed residential landlord, Vonovia SE, has sold its nursing home portfolio in Hamburg. As part of the transaction, the Hamburg-based Gesellschaft für Vermögens- und Beteiligungsmanagement (HGV) is acquiring the business operations of Pflege & Wohnen Hamburg (P&W) with a total of 13 nursing home locations and approximately 2,400 nursing beds, as well as the shares in the real estate companies. The total transaction volume amounts to approx. EUR 380 million.

Thus, the city of Hamburg brings Pflege & Wohnen Hamburg back under its wing after its privatization in 2007. The reconveyance aims to ensure the long-term availability of nursing care beds and protect the rights of employees and residents.
