Legal 500 has been reviewing the international legal market for over 30 years. In its current Germany guide, there is a comprehensive overview of approximately 400 commercial law firms and 2,700 attorneys in 50 practice areas.
P+P was ranked in all of its core competencies and receives a top-tier ranking in non-profit and fund structuring. 25 P+P professionals are listed as recommended experts, often in more than one practice area, and of these four are considered leading.
P+P is "simply excellent" in providing legal and tax advice to foundations and non-profit organizations, in guiding structuring changes, and also in its expertise in social venture capital and cross-border advice. As a whole, the team is "diverse", with Andreas Richter as a "leading" advisor and the "frequently recommended and particularly active" Katharina Gollan, who is listed as a "next-generation name". Other recommended advisors are Stephan Viskorf and Martin Liebernickel.
Mr. Liebernickel is also recommended for his tax expertise. The firm is "well-known in the market" for its "excellent" tax competency under the leadership of Michael Best in these practice areas: corporate transactions, succession planning and taxation of private equity funds. Additional recommended advisors are Peter Bujotzek and Andreas Rodin.
P+P also receives a top-tier ranking for private equity fund structuring, with the "proactive" Amos Veith as a "leading" advisor in Germany for PE und VC funds; he is also "very pleasant in personal collaboration". He leads the team together with Andreas Rodin, who is one of the "absolute market expert". The Berlin-based partners Uwe Bärenz and Tarek Mardini also attract attention within the market. Clients appreciate the team's "very high level of service, based on short lead times, reliable adherence to specified deadlines and excellent price-performance ratio".
In private equity transactions, Benedikt Hohaus is a "leading" advisor in management advice and management participation programs. P+P is considered a top address that has a great deal of experience in supervising transaction in the mid-market segment. Recommended advisors are Ralf Bergjan, Matthias Bruse and Jens Hörmann. They are also listed for M&A alongside Otto Haberstock, Frank Thiäner, Georg Greitemann and Eva Nase. 
Eva Nase and her colleague Wolfgang Grobecker are also among the "key figures" in corporate law. The supervision of transactional matters and advice on the interface with tax law are particularly praised. 
Last but not least, Christian Tönies is listed as a "leading" advisor for venture capital. He is "extremely experienced, pragmatic and solution-oriented". Partner Michael Inhester and senior associate Sebastian Gerlinger ("professionally very good, attentive and modest") are also recommended advisors. 
The real estate law practice and its four partners also receive high praise. The practice offers "a very good level of service and price-performance ratio" and cooperation is "exceptionally tailored to the particular project in every way". This is due to the "professionally adept, flexible and strong negotiator" Matthias Durst, as well as to his colleague Stefan Lebek, who is a "highly regarded advisor due to his professional expertise". The newly named partner Marcel Guenoub is particularly "well-versed" in advice on project development.
