POELLATH supports Initiative Deutsche Infrastruktur e.V. and participates in the 6th German Infrastructure Conference in Berlin
On December 4, 2024, the 6th German Infrastructure Conference took place at the Federal Press Conference in Berlin. This event convened politics, business and investors to promote an exchange regarding privately financed infrastructure investments in Germany. The focus, inter alia, was on the challenges of digitization, increase of decarbonization and solutions for improving framework conditions.
POELLATH’s Berlin-based attorneys Dr. Tobias Lochen and Dr. Jens Steinmüller actively participated in the conference and supported IDI’s legal and regulatory working group. In a panel discussion, Dr. Jens Steinmüller discussed the legal and regulatory framework for capital investments by German pension investors, highlighting the opportunities and challenges arising in this area.
Since the beginning of 2024, POELLATH has been the only legal partner and official sponsor of the Initiative Deutsche Infrastruktur e.V. (“IDI”). IDI acts as an independent platform supporting German pension institutions in strengthening Germany’s competitiveness through sustainable investment in essential infrastructure.
The members of this initiative are primarily representatives of German pension institutions, including insurance companies, pension schemes and retirement funds, which collectively manage cross-industry and cross-regional capital assets of approximately EUR 400 billion. Through working groups and the board, the IDI actively comments on key issues of German infrastructure projects, including telecommunications, energy and transport networks.
With its commitment to IDI and its legal and regulatory expertise, POELLATH is resolved and dedicated to supporting sustainable investments in Germany.
