P+P advises existing shareholders of KäuferPortal on investment by ProSiebenSat. 1 and General Atlantic
ProSiebenSat. 1 Group, one of the largest independent media companies in Europe, and General Atlantic, a leading international growth investor, have invested in the online company KäuferPortal.
In 2008, when they were young students, Robin Behlau and Mario Kohle started the website käuferportal.de. The online service allows users to obtain and compare offers from regional companies before making a large purchase. Starting in 2015, the company progressively expanded into other European countries. Currently, KäuferPortal and its partners sell products and services with a value of EUR 500 M; the company employs over 350 people in six European locations. The provider network comprises over 2,300 companies throughout Europe. This also includes major brands like Höffner, Jungheinrich or EON. The company receives over 1.2 million customer inquiries per year.
ProSiebenSat.1, experts in brand-building, and General Atlantic, a strategic partner that supports entrepreneurs and management teams with capital and operational know-how to promote their growth, will each acquire 42 percent of the company. The company founders Robin Behlau and Mario Kohle shall retain the remaining shares. Both founders will remain in their current positions at KäuferPortal: Behlau as CEO, Kohle as chairman of the advisory board.
The transaction must still be approved by the competent antitrust authorities.
