JUVE confirms in this survey, which covers 600 German law firms, the outstanding role of P+P in the practice areas of tax, company succession, private equity, venture capital, fund structuring, M&A and real estate. In addition, seven of the 14 leading or quoted partners of P+P are mentioned in two or three practice areas. In detail, P+P is mentioned as follows:
In tax, P+P is represented by six names, three of them "leading": Richard Engl ("one of the greats in corporate tax law", competitor), Reinhard Pöllath, Thomas Töben and Andreas Rodin, Michael Best and Wolfgang Tischbirek as recommended lawyers. All in all, P+P's "highly recommended tax practice has earned its excellent reputation through many years of all-round-advice to private equity funds, as well as its outstanding expertise on the interface tax/M&A/corporate".
In company succession, P+P has two partners who are named "leading" lawyers: Reinhard Pöllath embodies "the epitome of private client lawyers", while Berlin partner Andreas Richter is "very specialized in representing interests opposite co-partners and avoidance of family disputes". In addition, Munich partner Matthias Bruse is "highly qualified" and Andreas Rodin from the Frankfurt office is also recommended. All four partners "remain constantly at the top of the market with their specialist orientation. The result of this is that almost no other competitor represents this advisory field as comprehensively as P+P." In private equity (transactions), another "leading" lawyer is Matthias Bruse, whereas Michael Inhester "is now emerging as one of the foremost up-and-coming-partners in the Munich market". P+P has a "particularly broad spectrum, including fund structuring, buyouts, venture capital and advice to small shareholders and management". Other recommended lawyers are Andrea von Drygalski ("very experienced, has seen everything"), Otto Haberstock ("good at getting results"), Philipp von Braunschweig, Andreas Rodin and Benedikt Hohaus ("excellent management advisor").
In addition to private equity, in M&A " the deal skills of the partners are [also] consistently recommended; the integration with the tax practice equally so". P+P has "outstanding deal lawyers with good contacts, especially with family business [and] portfolio acquisitions for PE houses". This assessment refers to Reinhard Pöllath, Matthias Bruse, Philipp von Braunschweig and Otto Haberstock ("very good professionally, pleasant person", competitor) (all in Munich).
In real estate, Berlin partner Stefan Lebek is estimated as a "leading" name and "dominates the firm's presence in the capital". P+P is "continuing along its transaction-oriented path in Berlin with total determination".
