Chambers HNW High Net Worth Guide, 2017
One of the most prominent international ranking guides, Chambers, launched its second High Net Worth Guide with a list of the top experts for private client work in each country.
Among them is Andreas Richter, who is considered to be "a prominent figure in this market and a noted expert in German estate and succession planning". Sources comment: "I would always recommend Andreas Richter if conflicted" and "He is a fantastic tax and family office adviser. He is very good on German succession and foundation matters. He has in-depth knowledge of tax and family office matters." Market commentators also highlight Richter's ability to handle cross-border matters. "He has very strong international experience", and is "an excellent international tax planner".
His Munich colleague Stephan Viskorf is also lauded as "technically excellent, especially in taxes", as well as being "a very nice person". He is qualified both as a lawyer and a tax adviser and much of his practice centers around advising wealthy individuals and families on tax matters. In addition, Viskorf assists clients with estate planning and intergenerational transfers of family businesses.
The „well-regarded team" advises on a wide range of private wealth issues, including family business governance and succession matters, the establishment and management of trusts and foundations, as well as estate planning for business owners and other wealthy clients. Observers reveal that "they are positioned well across a number of areas that are very important to high net worth individuals... They have the tax part completely down, they advise a lot of family offices and they are also able to advise clients regarding real estate."
Last but not least, "they're very good and very responsive, they're always available, and that's what you want to see in a service business... They're just terrific - we work with them because we like them.
