P+P strengthens its antitrust practice

P+P Pöllath + Partners continues to expand. Daniel Wiedmann will join the firm's antitrust practice as counsel in the Frankfurt office. In particular, Wiedmann will continue to bolster the firm's transactional M&A and real estate practices. After six years as a lawyer in the Frankfurt office of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, he will join P+P Pöllath + Partners at the beginning of February 2015.

Daniel Wiedmann began his law career in 2006 at Mayer Brown LLP in Frankfurt and has expertise in all practice areas of both German and European antitrust law. Wiedmann is an expert i.a. in merger control and transaction-related legal advice. At Debevoise, he recently advised on fusion control law matters i.a. AIG on the sale of ILFC to AerCap, CD&R on the acquisition of Solenis (former Ashland Water Technologies), SPIE on the acquisition of the branch Service Solution of Hochtief, Access Industries on the acquisition of Warner Music and Ingenico on the acquisition of Easycash.

In addition, Wiedmann advises in the practice areas of antitrust and misconduct pro-ceedings, in contract-related antitrust matters and antitrust compliance. He is a board member of the Antitrust Law Forum in Frankfurt/Main and member of the Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht (Antitrust Lawyers Association), as well as of the German-American Lawyers' Association.

Dr. Matthias Bruse, member of the P+P management board, comments on the appointment:

"Daniel Wiedmann will support the consistent expansion of our transaction practices. His broad expertise as an antitrust attorney makes Daniel Wiedmann a valuable asset for all our transaction teams, who will help us to offer our clients even more comprehensive advice under one roof."

P+P Pöllath + Partners is strategically expanding its corporate practice, as well as the Frankfurt office. In 2013, P+R Pöllath + Partners strengthened its transaction practice substantially in the financing sector with the appointment of Dr. Jens Linde to the Frankfurt office (coming from Freshfields).
