New P+P Partners
As of 1 January 2017, P+P Pöllath + Partners has named two new equity partners: Nico Fischer (tax, Munich) and Jens Steinmüller (private funds, tax, Berlin). Both colleagues were formerly counsel with the firm; they have been associated with P+P for many years and will further strengthen the partnership. Berlin-based real estate attorney, Raphael Söhlke was named associated partner.
Nico Fischer is a new partner for tax law in Munich. He advises private equity funds on tax matters and also advises on M&A and real estate transactions. He recently advised Equistone on the acquisition of a majority share in D3T Distribution, the shareholders of TimePartner on the acquisition of TimePartner by House of HR, the chief executive of P&I AG on the sale to Permira and Aviva investors on the sale of office properties in Munich and Mannheim.
Jens Steinmüller is the ninth partner to join the private funds practice – a practice area that the firm has continuously expanded for a number of years. The Berlin-based partner advises on legal, regulatory and tax matters related to asset management for institutional investors and wealthy individuals, e.g., on the structuring of solutions for alternative investments, as well as investments in alternative investment funds (in particular private equity, private debt and infrastructure). His clients include fund managers and financial service providers, as well as insurance companies and pension funds.
Raphael Söhlke was named associated partner at the beginning of this year. The Berlin-based real estate attorney advises on transactions and project developments. Recently, he advised Deutsche Wohnen AG on the acquisition of a national nursing home portfolio from Berlinovo.
At the beginning of 2017, P+P Pöllath + Partners significantly expanded the career opportunities for professionals by introducing the associated partner position. The new concept offers an appealing career stage for excellent, long-term colleagues. The non-equity associated partner position is open to experienced professionals with ten years of work experience.
