New partners at P+P; changes within the management board
As of January 1, 2018, P+P Pöllath + Partners has named two new equity partners: Marcel Guenoub (real estate, Berlin) und Tarek Mardini (private funds, Berlin), both formerly counsel with the firm. Both colleagues have worked with P+P for many years and will strengthen the partnership. Frankfurt-based financing attorney Jens Linde was named associated partner.
Marcel Guenoub is the newest real estate partner in the Berlin office, whereby the practice now has four equity partners. Mr. Guenoub advises on all aspects of real estate law. His specialty is advice on project development and he has particular expertise in commercial tenancy law and construction and architecture law. Other areas of expertise include real estate transactions, asset management and litigation. His clients are institutional investors, project developers and family-owned companies that are involved in all aspects of the real estate sector.
Tarek Mardini is the newest partner in the private funds practice in Berlin. The firm has continuously expanded the private funds practice and it currently has nine equity partners. Mr. Mardini advises both sellers and buyers on the legal and tax aspects of secondary transactions involving fund investments (in particular on sales of portfolios and other complex fund transactions). He also specializes in legal advice on contract, regulatory and tax issues and the assessment of market standards for alternative investment funds and asset management. His clients include institutional investors and holders of private wealth, as well as fund managers in connection with the investment, including structuring of private equity, venture capital, mezzanine / private debt funds and other alternative investment funds.
Jens Linde was named associate partner in the Frankfurt office. He advises primarily on syndicated acquisition and corporate financing and real estate financing. His clients include sponsors, borrowers and banks. The most recent mandates include advising Brockhaus on the acquisition financing for the acquisition of the software company Auvesy and advising LBBW as mandated lead arranger and agent of syndicated company financing.
At the beginning of this new year, P+P partners appointed Frank Thiäner as a member of the management board. In this position, Frank Thiäner succeeds the Munich-based partner Benedikt Hohaus, who withdraws from the board after a three-year rotating term.
Frank Thiäner has worked with P+P since 2003 and he primarily advises on M&A transactions for both private equity funds and strategic investors in the Munich office. He is a lecturer at the University of Münster and is active in the International Bar Association (IBA) in various roles, most recently as chairman of the private equity subcommittee.
Alongside Frank Thiäner, the partners Andreas Richter (Berlin, Frankfurt) and Stefan Lebek (Berlin) continue their terms. The management board plans, organizes and implements the firm's essential projects and coordinates the strategic focus of the firm throughout all offices.
