Germany: Foundation law in Germany after its fundamental reform

Very recently, foundation law in Germany has been extensively reformed. This article sheds light on some of the fundamental changes brought about by the reform. It takes a practitioner’s perspective and thus elucidates the key aspects to bear in mind when dealing with a German foundation (Stiftung)—whether as a third party, a (contractual) debtor or creditor or even as a beneficiary or potential
founder.
