Act to Modernize the Law on Partnerships - Implications for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses
Described as the biggest reform of partnership law in over a hundred years, the Partnership Law Modernization Act (MoPeG) will come into force on January 1, 2024 - and thus one year later than originally planned. In their article, Sebastian Löcherbach and Christian M. König explain the effects of the reform on small and medium-sized businesses and show that, despite some improvements, the reform is unfortunately not the ‟big hit” that had been hoped for, since in essence the principles developed by case law and the literature have been codified.
