Pain in the nexus
Marriages of international couples with some connection to Germany – such as residence, citizenship or assets – may have considerable German tax, family and inheritance law consequences. Awareness of those consequences and how to possibly control them can be of utmost importance, in particular for (ultra-)high-net-worth individuals and those with stakes in (family) companies, even if based abroad.
