P+P advises the management of CoreMedia AG on sale to OpenGate Capital
The global private equity firm OpenGate Capital has acquired a majority interest in the software company CoreMedia AG. The sellers were Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners and a consortium of private investors. P+P advised the management of CoreMedia AG within the scope of the transaction.
CoreMedia AG is a platform for content management and experts in digital marketing. The company is headquartered in Hamburg and provides real-time product information with multimedia marketing content, as well as personalized product messages. The digital marketing solutions allow users to improve their digital presence and optimize their e-commerce platforms. The customers all over the world primarily include companies from the luxury goods, retail, media, industrial fabrication, telecommunications and public sector, as well as other global e-commerce firms.
CoreMedia AG is the sixth investment of OpenGate’s second, recently closed institutional fund, the assets of which amount to approximately US$ 585 million. The private equity firm is headquartered in Los Angeles and focuses on the middle market segment in North America and Europe.
Munich-based partners Dr. Barbara Koch-Schulte (M&A/private equity, tax law, management participations) and Dr. Nico Fischer (tax law) advised the management of CoreMedia AG on all legal and tax matters related to the transaction.
