POELLATH advises yabeo on setting up fund structure
The yabeo impact fund thus becomes the second supporting pillar alongside “yabeo Venture Tech”, whose investment focus is on fintech, insurtech and healthtech. Since 2013, yabeo has made individual investments in the areas of senior care, inclusion (auticon) and reduction of plastic waste using water filters (TAPP Water). The advisory board of yabeo Impact GmbH consists of Prof. Susanne Porsche, Prof. Dr. Gunter von Minckwitz and Kurt Schöffer. As a successful entrepreneur, Prof. Susanne Porsche has been supporting young entrepreneurs and their startups for many years. Prof. Dr. Gunter von Minckwitz is one of Germany’s most successful breast cancer researchers and has been actively investing in startups since 2016. Kurt Schöffer, an entrepreneur in IT, energy and media, has been CEO of auticon, a yabeo portfolio company, since 2013 and has developed the IT consulting specialist into the world’s largest employer of adults on the autism spectrum with a presence in eight countries.
The new investment platform focuses exclusively on companies with a socially or environmentally relevant focus and is guided by the UN’s 17 “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDG). The focus here is on cleantech, agriculture tech and food tech on the environmental impact side, and on inclusion and education on the social impact side.
