POELLATH advises Maxburg on sale of STARFACE Group GmbH
An investment firm advised by Maxburg Capital Partners (“Maxburg”) has sold its stake in STARFACE Group GmbH (“Starface”), a leading provider of IP telephony and cloud PBX solutions in Germany, to Gamma Communications plc. The closing of the transaction is still subject to the standard regulatory approvals. POELLATH advised Maxburg on all tax law matters in connection with the sale.
The Karlsruhe-based Starface Group unites three highly specialized, successful ITC companies: STARFACE GmbH, estos GmbH and vio:networks GmbH. These companies work together to make communication more efficient and convenient for companies of all sizes by developing products and solutions that are compatible with all common end devices and operating systems. Starface employs more than 270 people, has more than 55,000 customers and over one million users.
Maxburg is an investment management company focused on German-speaking countries, which primarily supports companies in partnership to drive sustainable growth. Maxburg investment companies currently have capital commitments totaling more than EUR 1 billion. Starface is Maxburg’s fourth exit in the software sector, after already successfully investing in Maltego, KGS and Tenado.
