POELLATH advises management of the Rodenstock Group on the sale to Apax Partners

POELLATH advised the management of the Rodenstock Group on the sale to the leading private equity firm Apax Partners regarding the management participation. The seller is Compass Partners. The sale is still subject to antitrust approvals. Closing is scheduled for mid-2021.

Munich-based Rodenstock Group, founded in 1877, is a global innovation leader in eye health and a well-known manufacturer of eyeglass lenses and frames. Rodenstock offers, among other things, the patented DNEye Pro technology, which measures each eye at thousands of measurement points and thus enables the production of individualized eyeglass lenses based on biometric data. The company’s portfolio includes eyewear under the Rodenstock and Porsche Design brands. The group employs around 4,900 people worldwide and is represented by sales offices and distribution partners in more than 85 countries.

Together with Apax, Rodenstock aims to accelerate its growth and drive innovation, digitalization and effective marketing of its products.
