POELLATH advises management of MEDIFOX DAN on sale to ResMed

ResMed, a global provider of cloud-based medical devices and out-of-hospital Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business solutions, has acquired a majority stake in MEDIFOX DAN (“MEDIFOX”), a leading provider of digital solutions for the German care and therapy sector. The seller was HG Capital (“HG”). The transaction is still subject to the customary regulatory approvals. The closing is expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter. POELLATH provided legal advice to the management of MEDIFOX in connection with the sale.

MEDIFOX, founded in 1994 and based in Hildesheim, Lower Saxony, is a leading provider of software solutions and services for outpatient and inpatient care, as well as therapeutic practices. Its core offering includes clinical, financial and operational software solutions for care documentation, resource and rounds planning, administration and billing, as well as factoring and hosting services. The company employs more than 600 people at eight locations in Germany. MEDIFOX’s customer base includes over 7,000 care facilities and nearly 100,000 users nationwide.

ResMed is a global healthcare leader in the development of innovative digital solutions for sleep and ventilation therapy, primarily in out-of-hospital settings. The company employs more than 750 people across Germany, of which more than 500 work at ResMed Healthcare, ResMed’s homecare company. This provides over 250,000 patients in Germany with sleep and respiratory therapies through a network of service branches, as well as direct care in patients’ home environment.
