POELLATH advises founders and existing inves-tors of IDnow on Corsair Capital’s majority stake

Financial investor Corsair Capital (“Corsair”), an IDnow shareholder since 2019, has acquired a majority stake in IDnow.

IDnow is a leading platform provider for identity verification in Europe with the vision of making the networked world more secure. The IDnow platform offers a broad portfolio of identity verification solutions, ranging from automated to human-assisted, from purely online to point-of-sale, each optimized for conversion rate and user security. The goal is to ensure the highest security standards with maximum user-friendliness. In 2021, IDnow acquired the French market leader in identity verification technology, ARIADNEXT, and the German identity verification provider identity, Trust Management AG. This enables IDnow to offer its customers one of the broadest portfolios of identity verification solutions across a single, integrated platform.

The company has offices in Germany, the United Kingdom, and France and is backed by notable institutional investors. Its portfolio of international clients spans a variety of sectors and includes leading international companies such as UniCredit, Telefonica, Sixt, Crédit Agricole Personal Finance and Mobility, BNP Paribas Personal Finance, and Munich Re, as well as digital champions such as N26, Solarisbank, Younited, BoursoBank, and Klarna.

Corsair is a specialized investment firm that invests in private markets buyouts and infrastructure. In buyouts, Corsair focuses on majority holdings in three vertical sectors: payment transactions, software and business services. Since its inception in 1992, Corsair has invested USD 13.6 billion in buyouts and infrastructure.
